We are now onto our third delivery of HelloFresh and are still loving the convenience of it as much as day one! We’ve been opting for the Classic Plan which I’ve found has the best selection of recipes to suit our family’s taste buds, we have not come across one meal so far that we haven’t loved.
NUTRITIONAL
One of the things I love about HelloFresh is that all of the meals are healthy, well-balanced meals. Each recipe is packed full of colourful, fresh vegetables and herbs and things like honey, garlic, and chilli, all of which are really good for you. The meals all have such good nutritional value which means I know my Family is eating well. The meals have also been so perfect for me whilst I was pregnant and now that I’m breastfeeding I know I’m eating a good variety of healthy ingredients and nutrients to give to my baby.
QUALITY INGREDIENTS
But the thing I love most about HelloFresh is that they use quality local ingredients and products, supporting local NZ Companies where they can and using mostly items I would purchase for our household anyway. Think Pics peanut butter, Farrahs wraps – all brands that I know and trust. They also provide beautiful quality cuts of meat which are always very generous in portion size. The sauces and marinades are also something I’m really impressed by, really interesting flavours using ingredients that I normally wouldn’t have thought of myself. I will definitely be keeping these on file to make over and over again even when we aren’t using HelloFresh.
CONVENIENCE
I ordered these boxes in the last few weeks of pregnancy and then my last one arrived a week after my second daughter was born. It was such a relief to have all of the meals delivered and planned out for me, as it was such a busy and tiring time for me as a new Mum. Having the box arrive on my doorstep every Saturday definitely took a lot of pressure off me, the pressure to get to the supermarket and organise dinner each night for my family. Most meals I can make in under 30 mins which I can always find the time for and a lot of the prep work can also be done earlier in the day ahead of time.
FAMILY TIME
Another aspect I love is that the whole family can get involved in making up these yummy meals. If I get busy with the baby then Hubby can easily take over from where I left off by following along the easy to follow recipe card. My daughter Alba also loves to get involved and helps prep all of the veggies for me, washing and drying them and also peeling the carrots etc. Helping prepare the meals also means she’s much more interested in eating them too! She has loved the majority of the meals, although sometimes I have to keep some of the meat aside and cook separately for her, as some of the sauces have an element of spice to them.
Overall, we have really loved receiving these meals every week and they have definitely been so handy in these busy times.
