Inside my Wardrobe…
For those of you who have been interested in seeing this, here it is! A wardrobe tour of my previous wardrobe. Currently working on setting up and organising my new space but have been way to busy to put time into it right now, but the updated room will be coming in later months. Hope you all enjoy!
Top 5 wardrobe essentials?
Dark blue skinny jeans, Nude strappy sandals, white embroidered cotton voile shirts, a beautifully tailored blazer and gold necklaces to layer.
Describe your go-to outfit?
My no fail look would probably be a beautiful silk shirt by Equipment or a white Cotton Voile blouse by Isabel Marant, tucked into some dark blue skinny jeans, paired with some boots and a statement bag by either Gucci or Chanel.
Top 3 local Designers?
Locally I love Marle, Juliet makes the most beautiful collection of modern pieces in luxe fabrics. Also Georgia Alice does the most beautifully tailored pieces in super luxe fabrics, she’s so clever! And number 3 would definitely be Ruby! Love their collections season after season, plus they always use such a beautiful colour palette for their collections.
Top 3 International Designers?
My top 3 International Designers would definitely be Isabel Marant, Zimmermann and Gucci!
Most worn item in my wardrobe?
Definitely my Isabel Marant Crisi boots in Taupe, they are such a beautiful shape and go with everything! Also my black Gucci Soho disco bag, I pretty much use this every day when running around with Alba as its crossbody and fits all the essentials plus it isn’t heavy which is a must for me!
Who I look to for style inspiration?
I have always loved Rosie Huntington-Whitely, she is so beautiful and effortless and I just love the combinations she puts together. She wears a lot of Isabel Marant too, so I just love seeing how she wears all of her pieces together mixed in with denim and leather staples.
Top 3 local stores to shop?
My favorite store is definitely Muse Boutique in both Newmarket and now Ponsonby. The store is so beautifully merchandised, they have such a beautifully curated selection of brands, and the staff especially Olivia are so amazing and knowledgeable. I also love Workshop In Newmarket and Ponsonby, again because the staff there are incredible and their service is always top notch, you can always trust their opinion! Workshop also stock Isabel Marant, so I always look forward to popping instore when the new collections launch. Another place i love to visit is Gucci on Queen Street. There is nothing more satisfying than saving up and purchasing a special piece from Gucci, the cost per wear rule always comes into play here and I truly believe in investing in quality over quantity, especially when it comes to shoes and handbags.
Top 3 online stores to shop?
I absolutely love Zimmermann! Their shipping is super fast and their packaging is always beautiful. Also you cannot go past Matches Fashion for a special treat, they have the best selection of designers, often have free shipping plus some really great sales! Farfetch is also a really cool site to visit, as it allows you to compare all of the prices of the same item from different stores, it also factors in the duty for you so you always know exactly how much you have to pay for those annoying customs taxes!
Most cherished item?
Would have to be my engagement ring, it’s such a special piece to me. Symbolises so much to us, a constant reminder of the love we have for each other, all of the hardships we have faced and all that we have overcome.
Currently on the wishlist?
Anything Chloe! Obsessed with that 70’s girl vibe right now! Also still dreaming of my ultimate wishlist bag, which for me is the Chanel Jumbo flap bag in black grained calfskin with silver hardware! Its incredible! Im also eyeing up one of the beautiful new cropped cashmere sweaters from Muse boutique, would be such a dream to wear one this winter! Also would love to get my hands on one of the chunky knitted blush cardi’s from ‘The Knitter’ which is also stocked at Muse.
My top tips on how to organise your wardrobe!
- Every 2 months go through your wardrobe and look at the peices you haven’t worn and decide whether or not they are still the style you love. Work out pieces you would like to sell and send them off to Designer Wardrobe valet or list on Trade Me. Anything you are unsure about, take out of your wardrobe and store it in your spare room, it’s much easier to see what you have and organise it when you have fewer peices. If you haven’t gone to take any of those spare room pieces out over the next 2 months you know they are no longer needed. List them, gift them or donate them! You will find it so much more motivating to organise your wardrobe when you only have the pieces you really love hanging in there.
2. Invest in some wooden hangers, you can now pick these up from Kmart or the Warehouse for around $8 for a pack of 10! They honestly make your wardrobe look 10 times better and much more uniform and organsised to the eye.
3. Colour code your wardrobe – this always makes everything so much more visually appealing. Also, try and divide your closet into items, keep your dresses on one side, tops on another and bottoms separate also. I usually fold denim and knits as I love the look of denim stacked up and hanging your knits means they won’t stretch out of shape over time.
4. Display your bags and shoes on a shelf so you can see them! If you are purchasing beautiful pieces why hide them in a box or a bag? Instead purchase some cool bookshelves from either Ikea, Warehouse or even Kmart and create a beautiful display! You can add a few gorgeous coffee table books to your shelves, some beautiful candles and even some fresh blooms to create a beautiful and interesting space.
