Tea Party at Bluebells…
A couple of weeks ago, I hosted our first ever Insta Mama’s event with some of my favourite Instagram Mom’s. Instagram is honestly such a great platform to meet other like minded Moms in your area. I have met so many amazing friends through this creative platform!
I decided on a Mommy and daughter event, catching up over high tea at the gorgeous little Bluebells Cakery store in Takapuna, as nothing beats coffee and cake!!
Tea parties are one of the most fun and wondrous games to play with your little ones so I figured we could all dress up in pretty frocks and feel fancy sipping from our tea cups!
Bluebells has recently added this High Tea option to their extensive treats and catering menu. Which really is such a fabulous idea! The perfect option for you to finally get a little taste of all those yummy treats you’ve been eyeing up in the cabinet.
We arrived at the gorgeous little courtyard at the back of the store which both me and Alba are very familiar with now! Alba knows right where to find the basket of toys and happily starts sifting through whilst I use the time to take some quick snaps of the setup before all the kiddies start arriving.
On offer is the most delicious selection of treats from the Bluebells cabinet including some yummy savoury tea sandwiches, sausage rolls and mini quiches. Plus all my favourite sweet treats including mini cupcakes, macarons and mini scones with jam – yum!
The table’s are beautifully arranged with little vases of fresh flowers scattered amongst the mismatched floral tea-sets and tiers of treats. After everyone starts arriving, the lovely staff take our drinks order which are the same refreshments on offer daily at the store. I go for my usual, a large Mochachino and Alba decides on a orange juice.
Once all of us get well acquainted and get our pics for the GRAM! We eagerly tuck into all of our tasty treats! Standouts for me were the herbed egg tea sandwiches, seasoned so perfectly on the most softest white bread. And also the warm, fluffy, bite-sized scones! Something about whipped cream and Jam, it’s just the most perfect duo!
The kids were all so well-behaved in the courtyard which meant us Mama’s actually had a chance to catch up. Everyone got on so well and the kids had a blast! We’ve all decided it’s something we would love to do again, so I will be busy planning another get-together in the new year!
It was truly such a special and indulgent treat for us all. If you haven’t been to a High Tea before you are definitely missing out! It’s something I’d recommend everyone to try at least once! High tea also makes such a lovely gift to someone on their birthday or for Mother’s day etc as it’s a great excuse to get dressed up and catch up on all the goss over cakes and tea or Champagne if you choose!
